YOUNG FAMILY REUNION

Andrew was born about 1644 Knockdow, Argyll, Scotland near Dunoon to John Lamont & Mary Young. After John Lamont, along with several hundred other Lamonts, were killed by a Campbell massacre, Mary fled with her children to Larne, Antrim, Ireland. Andrew changed his last name to Young, his 3 other brothers changed their last names to Sitlington, White & Green. The were involved in the Linen business near Larne, North Ireland.
 
We believe Andrew died in Ireland, but two of his sons John Young & James C. Young emigrated to Augusta Co, Virginia about 1740 along with John’s children - Sarah, Hugh, John, William, Jane, James, & Robert along with James C. & his son James.
