Pleasant Ridge
According to the 1855-56 V. Gayle Snedecor
Directory:
This village is located on the high
pleasant table land, east of the "Mouth of Sipsey," known as Sipsey
Ridge. It is principally desirable on account of the excellent
Academy for young men established there, and conducted by the
Messrs. A. A. & E. A. Archibald, whose reputation as teachers secure
them at all times a full school.
